$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install multimedia-players 

multimedia-players is installed in your system.

Make ensure the multimedia-players package were installed using the commands given below,

$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep multimedia-players *

You will get with multimedia-players package name, version, architecture and description in a table

multimedia-players package basic information:
